Dragons

Dragons, Year 5 and 6, are the oldest class in the school. We are taught by Miss Nixon and Teaching Assistant Mrs Baker.

As the oldest children in North Cadbury C of E Primary School, we look to lead by example and demonstrate to the other children how we learn through collaboration. We enjoy learning a creative curriculum which gives us the skills we will need in the future world. We help others to learn through our responsibilities, Peace Garden Monitors, Playground Buddies and Leaders and as Welcome Crew in the morning. We will usually be the first people the younger children see each morning and we help them with settling in.

We learn in lots of different ways, from forest school activities to working with professional actors, writers and composers. We focus on our Christian ethos of Love, Care and Respect in everything that we do in and out of school. This helps us to achieve all that we can. We play lots of different sports against teams in our local federation.

Every child plays a brass instrument with whole class teaching from Mr Bertie. We celebrate our talents with many concerts and performances throughout the year.  Music helps us with our confidence and our creativity, allowing us to express ourselves.

One of the highlights of the year is our summer residential.  This year we are visiting Greatwood Camp on the Quantocks. We look forward to the team building challenges of caving, rock climbing, abseiling and archery, plus many other exciting learning opportunities.

We leave North Cadbury ready for whatever the outside world will throw at us, and continue to develop, grow and thrive as individuals.
